Mario is a car mechanic from Adelaide Australia. When he started his apprenticeship in 1987 , he saw his first 130 berlina. It was silver with burgundy leather interior, and still had plastic covers on the door trims and sun visors. It was traded in for $ Oz 5,500. He was earning a mere $116 / week. A little out of his price range. Some 9 years later he came across a red car (originally purple, body color code 196) 2 streets over from where he lived and purchased the car. As there was many items wrong with it Mario has stored it under cover for the past 18 years some life circumstances that changed ( death, marriage, mortgages, children etc etc), and am now endevouring to restore it. It originally came from Victoria Australia and was made to look like a 400i Ferrari, hence red paint and star shape knock on rims. It is in a poor state (minus 15 out of 10) but I refuse to scrap it as I am not capable of destroing such a fine piece of italian motoring history. The year on this is 1974 , VIN is 130BC0003525. No registration. I have other photos of the start of its restoration.
The blue 130 coupe I bought in 1998 and have driven this. Unfortunately the Ruggena or rust has eaten into every panel from doors to gaurds, to windscreen panels to roof to even the A pillars. This will be restored when I complete the red(purple car). The year on this is 1974 , VIN is 130BC0003057, registration is VKH 870
If any one can help with parts or ideas I would be greatly appreciative, please mail Mario by sending him an email. There is a immaculate blue restored coupe on Facebook that is very impressive. I hope that I can restore to this standard.
